Mitrovic has got an 8 game ban and 75k fine for shoving the ref.
The FA plans to appeal the 8 game ban to make it longer, considering Di Canio received an 11 game ban back in the day is this fair or a tad harsh?
Mind you, just happy he wont be available on Saturday.

Would love to see a ref diving and rolling around in agony next time a player nudges them.
I don’t think 8 games is harsh - punishment needs to be consistent with all teams if it’s going to have an impact.

No. He got a 3 game ban anyway so he has to serve that. They are not appealing the sending off.

What goes around…. not forgiven him for the sly off-the-ball elbow in Lanzini’s face up at Newcastle a few years ago.
Think 8 weeks is about right.

Got to agree with you there for once, old timer.
There has to be an understanding that if you involve yourself with the referee, it's going to be a severe punishment.

Let’s remember the ref had made the correct decision on this…..Mitrovic was actually out of order….he had no reason to do what he did and let himself get wound up by Willian….

Should have had a six month ban. Do not under any circumstances touch the ref, invade the ref’s personal space, wave a finger in the ref’s face and only speak if addressed by the ref.

It’s too much. He was silly but it’s too harsh a punishment for what he actually did.
Nothing I see about liverpools players surrounding the ref and screaming in his face on Saturday…

Mitrovic didn't shove the ref. He nudged him with an elbow to make the ref stop walking away and face him. The way he got in his face afterwards probably deserves more than the standard 3 match ban, but 8 is more than enough already. I don't think di Canio deserved 11 either. Just because they went overboard in the past is no reason to do the same again.
